Tabard


Description/Blazon
The dark blue represents the Adjutant General Corps with which all Army Bands are associated.  The tabbard and drum displays the shoulder sleeve insignia for the 99th Regional Support Command, worn by the unit.  Encircling the bottom of the insignia are 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies, which includes New Jersey, the current location of the 78th Army Band.  Above the image, on the tabbard and drum, a white scroll with the inscription "SEVENTY-EIGHTH ARMY BAND" in dark blue.  Displayed on the drum is the unit's World War II campaign credits (Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe) and the Meritorious Unit Commendation, inscribed "EUROPEAN THEATER" awarded to the unit.
